Applied behavioral analysis is a type of autism therapy.

Description

Offers therapeutic interventions for children and young adults with autism spectrum disorders based on the theory of applied behavior analysis.The therapy is designed to teach skills, from basic ones to more involved ones, and is also used to correct inappropriate behaviors that are associated with autism. The goal of treatment is to establish socially important behaviors that will enhance the independence and/or quality of life for the individual and which can include academic, social, communication or daily living skills.

Description

Provides evaluation of a client's cognitive/intellectual functioning, language and communication skills, independent living skills, social and emotional development, and perceptual/motor functioning in order to diagnose individuals with any neurodevelopmental disorder including autism, ADHD, sensory processing disorder or language disorder; and to recommend a course of treatment and care.
